New Webstore! And A Free Book!
For the past week, I have been working feverishly (haha, yeah right) on our new webstore. We upgraded to a ecommerce site that is just in general a lot nicer than anything I had the capacity to do on our website. So far, I love it. I am still tweaking the design, and can get a little fancier as time goes on and I get more comfortable with it. But for the time being it looks great and is super functional.
Now, we are just waiting (anxiously!) for our first order. I am worried that because we were having so many problems with the Paypal site before (huhuhm, you should stop switching code for no darn reason, Paypal. It's really frustrating) that we might have lost some sales or maybe discouraged other from placing orders.
So, if you have been waiting for a good time to order something from mulesandmore.com, do it now! We would be so happy and to share our excitement, we will include a FREE Mule Poems book with your purchase! It won't show up in your cart - you just need to write "NEW STORE" in the comment section on checkout. This offer is good on orders placed from now to Monday, August 26. So...get shopping!
We are gearing up for the National Championship Chuckwagon Races in Clinton, Arkansas, next week. Part of our group will be down on Saturday, and the rest will trickle in throughout the rest of the week. Come look us up and say hello! We are looking forward to it!

Shelbyville 2013
We are back from the Great Celebration! It was great to get to visit with all the subscribers there! Camri placed fourth in 10 and under barrels and fifth in 10 and under walk trot. I placed fifth in both of my jumping classes (hunter hack and open working hunter). Cole placed in several of the gymkhana classes, and was very happy with how his younger mule Betty and older mule BB did. I came home with a list of things to work on, but am overall very happy with how Maggie and Hoosier performed.
Camri had a great time. She would sit and watch the classes for hours if we let her. She learned a lot about showing this weekend, and decided she really liked the walk/trot class. She also loved the shopping! I think she visited every booth numerous times, but frequented Jackson's Western Store the most, and came home with quite a few purchases from there (earrings, stuffed animals...). She also made friends with the beagles down the isle from the Mules and More booth and was sad to have to tell them goodbye.
We are now working on our September issue, deadline August 1. We are also getting ready for the Columbia, Mo., mule show during their fair (July 28 at 5 p.m.). It is the same time as our fair here in Owensville, and Camri is very excited about that week!

I'm A Terrible Blogger.
As the title of this post, I am terrible at this blogging thing. I tend to do pretty well during the winter/colder months, but as soon as it is nice out side, I typically stop thinking about it. I will attempt to keep up better (uh huh, sure).
Summer update: Acro is finished (Cam went undefeated in both events all season!), we are in the middle of tball, and the kids have been spending afternoons at the pool. Now that the weather has calmed down, we should be able to spend more time in the saddle, too. I rode Wednesday, and Maggie made it clear she does not like summer. She was a sweaty mess about 10 minutes into the ride, but boy do you feel accomplished when you get back to the barn and they are soaking wet! I guess it might be time to get up early and ride now that the sun has decided to come out for a while.
Another neat thing: Jake and Kay Clark are livestreaming the Mule Days events. Camri and I just watched Jiggs, Tim, dad, Wesley, and the other guys and gals there go through the trail course in real team. So neat! Here is the link: http://new.livestream.com/accounts/3228209/jakeclarksmuledays
Mom is also Instagramming her trip, it's been nice to keep up with them that way. Good luck to everyone at the sale on Sunday!

We are finished with our July issue, and are working on our August issue now. Deadline is July 1. It should contain our Jake Clark Mule Days coverage.
