July Already?

It is seriously upsetting that there is only one day of June left. I'm not sure why, but this month flew by. T-ball is almost over, already! Cam's last game is this week.
And I know July will go quickly, too. Next week I'll be in Shelbyville, Tenn., for the Great Celebration Mule and Donkey Show. The next week is our town's fair and Cole and I are road-tripping to Chicago and St. Louis. Then, the last weekend in July, there is a Showdeo in Locust Grove, Okla., which we will be attending.
Our town had their fireworks display this past weekend. It was nice, but things need to slllooowww dddooowwwnnn. Guess there's not much I can do about it, though. When I get back from Shelbyville, we will be starting the September issue of Mules and More... Ugh.

Back to Reality...

I had a great time in Ralston, Wyo. So much fun! We took about 5,000 photos, so I think we will be able to cover the event pretty thoroughly. Congrat's to TJ Clark for winning the all-around saddle and Mark Schrimpf for high-selling mule saddle!
We left out at 3:19 a.m. on Monday morning, and I pulled into my driveway after picking up Camri and Coco at about 2 a.m. this morning. Needless to say, when my alarm went off at 6:15, I hit the snooze a few times. But we made it to school on time.
We received several articles from subscribers while I was gone. It is always nice when we can include a variety of things in the magazine. I think this is one of the reasons why our format works so well.
Unfortunately, it just hit me that I have to get my little fat mule ready AND have another magazine finished in TWO WEEKS! Ugh...I guess it's back to reality for me. I guess we better get Camri and Ellie Mae ready to show, too, since they will be going along.
There were so many mule events this past weekend. I hope everyone got to attend at least one of them. From what I hear, the Ohio mule show went well. I haven't yet heard how the other went. But if you attended, let us know!

Jake Clark Days

After two very queasy plane rides, I made it to Ralston, Wyo., to Jake Clark Days. Yesterday we spent all day team sorting. In the draw round, I think I would have been fifth with the partner I drew, but they only paid 4 holes. In the open round, I finished second with my dad and third with Jiggs. I rode Stumpy, one of the two mules that my dad brought to sell in the sale. Not to bad, since I had never rode Stumpy before!

We ate at Cassie's in Cody yesterday night. Jiggs and his girlfriend Barb were nice enough to let me wash my ridiculously tangled hair at their motel this morning. I seriously can not even run my fingers through it....it's so tangled. The wind was crazy yesterday.

Today is the trail course and ranch classes. It would be a lot more enjoyable if the wind lays off a little bit!

Back In Action

I think we finally have the computer problems fixed now that we have CS5 installed. And this new computer couldn't have been ready to go at a better time. I set up a new ad rate packet today (on the old computer), and I seriously spent 75% of my time waiting for things to load. It was grueling.
After all the mishaps the last couple of weeks, it feels kind of nice to finally be back in the swing of things. Yesterday I got all my web design for June done (updated classifieds, picture page ads, calendar of events, and two new articles up). I also set the standards up in the arena and jumped my fat little mule. He got a bath and his stall cleaned, too.
But tomorrow I leave for Wyoming, so I will just as quickly be out of the swing of things again. At least I feel like I accomplished something before I left this week!
If I can find wi-fi while I am at Jake Clark Days, I will definitely post some updates.

Eventful Monday

Camri went to her first day of Kindergarten Camp yesterday. I got a little sad...she just seemed so grown up walking into her classroom...
After class, she went to vacation Bible school with her grandma Bridgett and I went to Columbia with my friend Amie, her boyfriend, and their friend. We walked around downtown Columbia and went to the Crash Kings concert at the Blue Note. We ate at Shakespeare's Pizza, which was pretty delicious. The band was very entertaining, too!
Yesterday was very eventful and I am kind of tired today. But there's no time for that...this magazine needs to be finished by Friday.

Compatiblity

This new Mac is going to make me go grey.
Apparently the new Mac's are not compatible with our CSs Adobe software. So yesterday when I went to set up the magazine on our new computer, it crashed about 10 times. I emailed the tech support at our printer, and sure enough...we need a $500 upgrade...beautiful.
So, we switched everything back to the old computer and will use it to set up the July issue.
Anyways, my favorite person in the world, Isaac Brock, has some new videos floating around the internet. It is basically my life goal to meet this man. I put one below, because it makes me happy...

Ah, Isaac, I feel better already.

New Mac!

I think our Mac problems are finally fixed...fingers crossed. On Friday, Camri and I picked up our new iMac. It's a pretty nifty all in one 27-inch computer, with a wireless mouse and keyboard. It's hi-def, and after you have been sitting at it for a while, and then walk over to another computer, you think, "Geez, why is this old computer so blurry?" But then you remember, it has always looked like that. You just never really knew it.
And of course, Camri enjoyed the huge box it came it...
I have 7 business days left to finish the July issue, so I guess I better get to work.
